Developing coaching skills for line managers

Overview

Conversations with a Purpose™ is a custom designed group coaching process for line managers from junior to middle level. It is aimed at effectively building coaching skills as well as enhancing initiatives aimed at managing change, developing others and building relationships. It is also encourages and promotes a climate of learning in the organization.

Format
  • A combination of small group interaction, one to one feedback, reflection and discussion to teach the essential elements of coaching
  • Action learning through observed practice sessions, self-observation, peer feedback and trainer feedback. Homework, aimed at on the job application, is also given.
  • Practical coaching framework
  • Emphasis on building the coaching relationship, continuing to develop coaching skills afterwards and on the job application.
Duration

4 sessions @ 3 hr each for 4 weeks, including short free telephonic and e-mail support for a month thereafter.

Managers who are interested in understanding themselves as coaches and improving their effectiveness in developing others through improving their coaching skills.

Internal coaches – (human resources specialists) interested in maximizing their organizational impact.
